  • Love it

    By Dot Cole
Even though it doesn't have the usual Star Wars spiff, I really enjoyed it. The music really matches the nature of the movie, a stand alone movie gets stand alone music. This is my favorite soundtrack of all the Star Wars.

I'm so pleased with this album and loved the movie as well!!
  • It's...ok

The two cardinal sins of this score: 1) He's trying too hard to sound like John Williams. No one will rise to that genius level. It's a flat-out B-grade carbon copy. 2) He used Theme of the Force at Bail Organa's reveal. What?! He's not a Jedi. That cue was horribly misused. Other than that, it's a somewhat enjoyable experience. I know he had 4 weeks to write the score, so he can't be fully blamed. It is the worst component in a stellar film, though.
  • Feel Rogue One through the music.

I first heard of Giacchino's music when I saw The Incredibles and I thought wow who is this? He did an awesome job then. With Rogue One, I think he composed a complete score that adds emotion to the scenes and characters delivering the full experience. After watching Rogue One you can't help but immersing yourself in the movie and unforgettable characters. Listening to the soundtrack, I still have the same emotional reaction to the music as I did when I saw the movie on the big screen. I believe Rogue One is the best Star Wars movie this generation has seen and why love this soundtrack so much.

A great composer with some great music I love the emotion it conveys and the great soulfulness it has
  • Horrible music as the movie

    By luigi cobos
Everyone expect something good but this time it's a waste of time listen this music and the movie is a horrible mistake
  • Good but not Amazing.

I feel there was a few issues with the score and it may have to do with the short notice of scoring in 3-4 weeks. While I understand the point of no opening crawl (not his decision) I feel a nice short variation on the opening theme would have been great (the cartoons do it well). Now that being said, there are amazing gems in this score. Hope and Your Father Would be Proud are a couple of my favorite tracks.
  • Miserably Generic

    By Hn. Solo
The film had a unique emotional depth, through the acting, the plot, the cinematography . . . but the score was horribly lacking. It's cliche, the same old hollywood stuff churned out hoping the audience won't pay too much attention. Though John Williams is a lot to live up to, Giacchino didn't seem to appear like he even tried to compose anything original or . For any other film, this score would be acceptable. But for perhaps one of the best Star Wars films to date, this score is an embarrassing accompniament to it. Then again, this is not surprising since Giacchino is a pro at churning out mediocre and generic film music with no emotional depth whatsoever.
