World Be Gone (Maxi-Single) is a worthwhile companion to the recently released album of the same name for tried and true Erasure fans. 👍🏼 The one new song "I Need You Now" is a full-vocal quirky tune that would have fit in well with the LP. 👍🏼 "World Be Gone" gets a modestly peppy rework for the single version (compared to the LP original) that works well. The two remixes that follow take the track satisfyingly in new directions, the first being more mellow but including all the vocals and more organic instrumebtals, the second with limited vocals but an unexpected smooth groove. 👍🏼 The real winner here is "Oh What a World", which gets two remixes of its own, both of which up the tempo and energy of this track without compromising the brooding vibe of the LP original. 👎🏼 "Just a Little Love", one of the sunnier tunes from the original LP, takes a beating in the form of a robotic, repetitive, derivative-dance remix that probably would have been best left off this otherwise strong single release.

Wow!!! Wow!!! Wow!!! The album released earlier this year was quite different to be honest. However, I'm sure Erasure fans will be super super happy with the new CD released today. But hold on alternative and what I would call drum & bass are evident. My new favorite is Just a little Love (last track). I feel like this is the new course for the Synth Duo. Cheers!👍
