This was the first Erasure album I ever owned. I got it in 1989 and soon collected everything they'd ever done. This is definitely their most commercially successful release, and for good reason. It holds up really well today, and is definitely worth adding to any musical collection!

I listened to this a million times my senior year in high school, every song will take a hold of you and become your favorite. There is no bad song on this album.

Andy Bell is perhaps one of the most underrated artists and matched with Vince Clarke, they are a match made in musical heaven. Truly great.

Phantom Bride is my favorite but when that one is done the next one plays and leaves me saying "ahh I love that song too" Then the next one plays and you're drawn in again. And again and again. This album is on my top three albums ever!
  • Exceptional Depth.

I've seen ridiculous numbers of greatest hits albums (by other artists) that don't come close to having as many catchy listenable songs as this single standard album has. Yes, you have to be a fan of this style. But if so, whew, there is a lot here to like! Best songs (in descending order): "A Little Respect," " Phantom Bride," "Imagination," "Chains of Love," "Ship of Fools," "Heart of Stone," and "Yahoo!"
